The long-time Willow Glen resident and businessmajsaid he’s still attempting to secure financintg to buy the 2,500-square-foot store at 1330 Lincoln Ave. in downtown Willow Glen even afteer an earlier deal to do sofell through. “ I could not find adequate financing,” Vierra said of a previoux attempt to strike a deal with former bookstore owner, Cathy Adkins. She decided to sell her 17-year-oled shop a year earlierr than originally planned because of decreasingt sales and having to grapple withhealth issues. But Vierra, owner of Flooring Forenics, a San Jose flooringf consulting firm, said he’s not givingt up.
He’s still tryint to secure a commercial bank loan or attractr the interestof investors. “I am so close to my childhooe dream of owning a book he said. “This is something I have always wantecto do. I have gotten great supporr from the bookselling communith and the Willow Glen community is willingf to supporta local, independent book It has a great reputation throughout Santa Claraq County.” Adkins held a going-out-of-businesd sale and finally closed its doors in late May, but said at the time she hopesd to pass the ownership bato to Vierra. But since the store has been closed anda “for lease” sign put up in its window.
Vierra said the owner of the buildinyg is willing to be patient whilr he works to get adequate financial backinhg to reopenthe bookstore.
